Fashion Clothing Swap happening Sunday at Gateway Mall

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – People looking to revamp their closet on a budget, interested in sustainability practices, and fashion lovers everywhere are invited to the first-ever Fashion Clothing Swap on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Gateway Mall.

Participants will drop off up to 15 clothing items from 10-11 a.m. and they’ll get a card that lists how many items of clothes they brought. Then, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., participants can take different clothing pieces, but it must be equal to the same amount of clothing items they brought. After 2 p.m. people who were unable to bring clothes to swap can come and shop what’s left over for $1. Any remaining clothes after that will be donated to Goodwill.

The event is a way to inspire the community and also learn about environmental sustainability.

“This is gonna be a time that’s really exciting and it’s gonna be really fun,” Maddie Graham, owner of the Frugal Fox and one of the organizers of the clothing swap said. “There’s gonna be really good quality clothing there and there’s nothing to be scared of. It’s not going to be like going through the racks at Goodwill if you get intimidated by that.”

The clothing swap is accepting gently used clothing with no stains and no holes. Gym clothes, shoes, and accessories will not be accepted. A $5 entry fee will be required at the door. For more information visit Graham’s Instagram, The Frugal Fox for more details.
