“With this campaign, we are looking to highlight great Canadian talent in the fashion industry that really represent what fashion should look like in 2023,” Belicia Chung, marketing manager at Amazon Canada, says of the initiative. “We look for diverse voices, of all backgrounds, from different locations across Canada, who all started their brands to fill a void they felt was present in fashion.”

In addition to offering items for purchase through the platform, the campaign features video interviews with the designers to share their unique stories with shoppers. The videos launch online on Oct. 24.

For the up-and-coming Canadian designers, the chance to see their wares on the countrywide platform can be a game changer.

“Being a very small brand, recognition through series like these are very meaningful,” says Alexandra Dean, founder of Adhere To Studios. “Moreover, this has given me the opportunity to give back to a non-profit I hold in high regard called Fashion Takes Action. FTA is focused on advancing sustainability, ethics and circularity in the entire fashion system.

“I have based my entire brand ethos on ethical and low-impact supply chain, manufacturing, and brand structure, so being able to provide a donation to FTA is a step toward the impact I want to make as a brand.”
