A modern twist on traditional Christmas plaids – Dua Lipa’s Christmas Outfit.
Dua Lipa, as always, has managed to make even traditional festive plaids look incredibly fashionable.
The singer, who was born in London to Kosovar-Albanian parents, announced the happy news that she has been awarded Albanian citizenship by President Bajram Begaj on Sunday. Dua chose a dress with a festive plaid print as if she had gotten into the holiday spirit because the event occurred between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The singer sported an asymmetrical twist on the design in blue and burgundy instead of the traditional red and green.
Dua’s dress had ruching at the bust, and long sleeves flared out at the cuffs. She accessorized with white pointed-toe boots and a mesh purse with a brass top handle. Her makeup was more subdued than normal, consisting of a dark pink lip, a luminous complexion, and sleek, straight hair parted down the middle.
She captioned a slideshow of photos from her citizenship ceremony at City Hall: “Thank you, President Bajram Begaj and Mayor @erionveliaj, for this honor obtained my Albanian citizenship!!.” The president thanked the pop singer for bringing attention to Albania through her songs. Lipa said, “It’s an unbelievable wonderful joy with such acceptance, love, and everything,” as she gave her fingerprints and posed for her passport photo.
Having received her citizenship just in time for Albania’s 110th anniversary of independence from the Ottoman Empire, Dua will conclude her Future Nostalgia World Tour on Monday in Tirana’s Skanderbeg Square.
