How does Travis Kelce compare to the NFL’s best-dressed stars?

  • Travis Kelce’s sense of style has been under scrutiny amid Taylor Swift romance
  • But the Chiefs tight end isn’t the only NFL star delivering the looks on Game Day
  • DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news

Travis Kelce has long had a flair for fashion, turning his stadium entrances into catwalks with his suave, if sometimes exuberant, Game Day fits, and as he steps out with new A-list super star girlfriend Taylor Swift, he’s also had to step up his style even more.

He recently gave a sweet nod to his new girlfriend when they left Arrowhead Stadium in September following her first time cheering him one.

He donned a funky blue and white co-ord jacket and trouser set from the brand Kidsuper, which was listed as the 1989 Bedroom Painting set. His look came roughly a month before the pop star releases 1989 (Taylor’s Version) – the latest album in her re-records of her masters.

Now, with scrutiny on his fashion sense like never before, the Chiefs star opened up to the Wall Street Journal this week about how he decides what to wear ahead of a big game or night out.

‘I kind of just do it off of instinct,’ he said, before admitting it can take him up to three hours before he has finally settled on what to wear before a game.

Kelce said that he enjoys the 'creative process' of choosing his clothes before heading out

‘It really just goes down to the wire,’ he explained. ‘I kind of enjoy the creative process of the panic to just throw something together.

‘Obviously, not every look is for everybody. I’m not going to be offended if somebody says I look like a clown if I got a fun hat on and some wacky jeans. It is what it is, I’m gonna have fun with it. For the most part, I do it to put a smile on somebody’s face.’

In 2020, Kelce – one of the best tight ends in the NFL – signed a new four-year deal with the Chiefs worth $57.25m, and he admitted that clothes are one of the main things he spends his money on.

He even apparently told the WSJ that he converted a bedroom in his house into a wardrobe that has over 300 pairs of sneakers.

‘Money gave me access to certain designers and just certain fabrics that I absolutely love now,’ he said.

But Kelce isn’t the only player who has seen the door to the fashion world open after their arrival into the NFL.

From flashy quarterbacks to chic wide receivers, DailyMail.com takes a look through the league’s best dressed.

Joe Burrow

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow may have fallen out of Super Bowl contention with an AFC Championship defeat to Kelce and the Chiefs last season, but he still remained in the race for The New York Times’ most stylish people.

Burrow is one of the best-dressed players the NFL has to offer and his Game Day outfits so often send social media wild that they landed him on The New York Times’ list of 93 Most Stylish ‘people’ of 2022.

The 26-year-old often likes to make a power play with a statement suit, with his looks ranging from a lime-green checked suit to a black-and-white floral number.

The signal caller has also produced a more relaxed style on occasion with tracksuit sets and denim or puffer jackets. But even when he does veer on the more causal side, it’s never without a pop of color

He also is a fan of his drip too, putting his staggering five-year, $275 million contract to good use. He owns a bedazzled 9, his jersey number, was valued up to $30,000 by ESPN, and has regularly thrown it back to Y2K with a pair of Cartier sunglasses.

Never to shy away he rocked this lime green suit paired with a bright-orange leather travel bag, and to bring it all together he went with Nike X Off-White Dunk Low sneakers

An often-worn accessory of Burrow's are sunglasses, but the ones that got the fashion fans' tongues wagging were the rose-colored ones he wore during a post-game conference

He also donned a similar pair of rimless sunglasses days later that same year, posting a photo of himself wearing them with the caption, 'Cartier glasses I won’t even peek at you'

OBJ

With the return of Odell Beckham Jr to the field came the return of his style.

Even before the wide receiver was sidelined for the entire 2022 season with an ACL tear, which he sustained during Super Bowl LVI, Beckham Jr had already made his way from the football field to the fashion world.

His unique and trendy looks, including even on red carpets, have even earned him an invite to Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s prestigious Met Gala.

He rocked a forest green Gabriel the Jeweler set – a green suede number that included a long tie of fabric draped over his head- at the 2022 Met Gala and showed off his sophisticated tie in a white tuxedo jacket, matching bow tie and shirt, and diamond and jewel pin clipped to his blazer pocket to accessorize at the amfAR Cannes Gala in May.

The wide receiver may have to be following in Kelce’s footsteps and stepping up his style even more amid rumors he is dating reality TV mogul Kim Kardashian.

Cam Newton

Cam Newton’s taste in fashion isn’t necessarily what could be considered minimalist or understated but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t pull it off.

The quarterback’s daring style often combines contrasting bright colors, a mix of prints and, of course, quite the collection of sneakers.

The free agent’s fashion risks have often paid off, regularly landing him in the pages of GQ in the past.

Russell Wilson

There seems to be a correlation between players with celebrity partners and a sharp dress sense as Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson follows the Kelce-OBJ pattern.

Wilson is regularly and accessory for wife Ciara on the red carpet but the Broncos quarterback also smartens up himself.

He often cuts a suave figure attending A-list events with the singer in sharp tailored suits.

But away from the flashing lights of the paparazzi, Wilson’s athletic side comes out to play and the athlete launched his clothing line, the Good Man Brand, as a middle ground.

The brand, launched in 2016, offers knits, button shirts, v-notch tees, joggers, lamb suede jackets, recycled polyester blazers, and cashmere sweaters.

Von Miller

Buffalo Bills star Von Miller has long been an NFL style icon, dating back to his Denver Broncos days.

His closet, which GQ revealed is 2,000 sq ft, and holds around 12,000 pieces of clothing, accessories and shoes, is full of a unique collection of pieces, including leopard print coats, embroidered suits, Louis Vuitton luggage and cowboy hats.

Last year, he made headlines with all-silver hoodie and matching cargo pants, inspired by ‘Alien Superstar’ and bright red luggage.

The tracksuit was not only inspired by Beyonce’s song, ‘Alien Superstar’, but was also a collaboration with the singer’s Ivy Park brand and Adidas and was gifted to Miller by Queen B herself.
