The Duchess of Sussex has made her grand arrival to the first-ever Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit. The inaugural event’s theme is “Mental Wellness in a Digital Age.”
To co-host the New York City event with husband Prince Harry, Meghan showed up in an all-white outfit composed of a sophisticated off-the-shoulder top with buttons down the center, plus a pair of matching wide-leg pants. She capped off the dreamy look with beige suede pumps, a delicate gold chain necklace with a black center pendant, and tiny gold hoop earrings.
Meanwhile, the prince wore a dark gray suit with a light blue button-down and a black tie.
Today’s summit, which is part of nonprofit Project Healthy Minds’ second annual World Mental Health Day Festival, will provide a platform for families who want to create a safer online world and a community that prioritizes the mental health of children and teenagers. Families who have suffered tragic losses as a result of their children’s social media usage have been working with the Archewell Foundation over the past year to create solutions, share their experiences, and develop relevant data and research. Along with Meghan and Harry, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and NBC’s Carson Daly are taking the stage to further explore the topic.
Earlier in the day, the Sussexes made a pit stop at the Marcy Lab School, a tuition-free post-secondary education program that focuses on engineering and technology. There, they also led a conversation about mental health concerns in the digital world.
“I think my husband was asking about online spaces because it’s a place where so much community can be built, but there’s also so much vulnerability,” Meghan said at the time, per pool reporter Janine Henni. “Theres a lot of saturation, and as parents, we can be hopeful knowing that your bright minds [are at work], knowing that they will be seen, valued and growing in the right direction. And that’s why it’s so important what you’re doing at the Marcy Lab.”
